How can I keep my Anchor account secure?

We support 2-Step Verification (2SV), and strongly encourage this for all users. You have two options for setting this up:

Authenticator App TOTP (Recommended)

We encourage using the Time-Based One-Time Password (TOTP) method for 2-step verification, due to its higher security in comparison to SMS-based authentication. You can enable TOTP in the app:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Two Factor Authentication.
  2. Tap "Add to Authenticator App".
  3. Follow the instructions to add Anchor to your Authenticator app.

Note that you'll need to download Google Authenticator or a similar authenticator app in order to do so, if you haven't already.

SMS Verification

To set up SMS verification:

  1. Go to Settings > Setup Primary Phone Number.
  2. Tap "Send a verification code to your phone." If you need to update your phone number, go to Settings > Account Actions > "Contact Support", or write to us at support@tryanchor.com.
  3. Enter the code sent to your phone.
  4. You will receive a confirmation that your phone number has been verified.  

Other security features

Additionally, we provide a Security Lock feature where you can require Biometric Authentication (Face ID / Touch ID) or a PIN code for all transactions. You can enable this by going to Settings > Security Lock.

Finally, we require a separate email confirmation for all new Withdrawal addresses and bank accounts, as an additional layer of security.
